How to Study Smart

Why do some students study very hard, spending most of their time doing their revision but they aren’t the best in their study group? And why are there some students who only spend a fraction of the time studying but they often get good or even outstanding results? This was not due to the lack of natural talent in studies but it simply means that they have not found an effective tool which acts as a knack for understanding concepts and learning new ideas. One of the smart study habits is by using mind-map to promote effective and accelerated learning experience. A mind map is a useful web-like structure which emphasizes visual imagery that helps to engage in critical thinking and seeing a bigger picture. Empirically, mind-mapping is proven as an effective method of note-taking as an active learning (Abi-El-Mona and Abd-Ei-Khalick, 2008; Liu, Zhao and Ma et al., 2014). Mind mapping makes learning more vivid, thus promotes creative thinking and encourages brainstorming. Th

Be grateful of what is in your hand

Some days are just great, where things go as planned. Or when you feel even better that there are like angels around you helping you to solve all your problems without effort. But there are also other days. The days when you do not feel motivated at all that your best laid plan just goes off even before the day begins. When something important unexpectedly goes wrong and you feel the sinking feeling in your heart, then you just feel like it’s not your day and you want to escape the reality. Perhaps the simplest and most effective way to turn such a day around to the one you desire is to turn your focus to gratitude.

It is amazing how one simple, easy and positive action can change so much in a person’s life. Gratitude is one of the most important thing to success. It is the key to experience life at its best, and it is when you spend a little of your time to appreciate and notice the positive aspects in your life. Many might tell you that continuous effort and dedication is what produces success. However, being grateful for your blessings in life is the fundamental door that opens to a life of success and prosperity.

There are studies shown that even it is widely recognized that money can buy happiness, such as buying clothes that you have been longing for, having sky dining that you have always imagined going, but that happiness is just right at the moment and it disappears right after you finish the action. What constitutes the utmost life satisfaction is gratitude, where each of us is equipped with the ability to experience positive psychological states even under difficult circumstances (Puente-Diaz & Meixueiro, 2016).

When you are truly grateful, you will find yourself living with greater purpose and passion. You may start by giving yourself a constant morning gratitude session, or anytime when you are free. Take one minute to think of the people who have done something nice for you, or to think of all the things in your life that you are grateful for. You might not bring everything you wanted to appreciate in one minute, but that’s enough. It’s enough to boost your day again and to charge you with happy energy to begin your heavy work. The one minute that will make your stress free.

One of the things that has had the greatest effect on my life is the realization of the power of gratitude. And here, I would like to take this chance to express my gratitude to my dearest mama. She is the one who showers me with love, kindness and support in life. She encourages me to be myself but encourages me more when I fail in doing the best decision. She is always there to listen to my stories and provides me with useful advice when necessary. She is my mum, my best friend, my partner and my love! Thank you mama for allowing me to be your daughter. Thank you and love you.
